About Us

Flying Bark Productions Pty Ltd is internationally recognized as Australia’s leading producer of quality children’s animated entertainment, known for its high quality film and television properties ranging from pre-school to young adult.

Established by Yoram and Sandra Gross in 1968, Flying Bark Productions Pty Ltd began as a family based animation studio and has now grown into a major player on the world stage in the kids/family market.  The studio first made international headlines in 1977 with the feature film, Dot and the Kangaroo which led to another 14 feature films before the studio diversified into making animated television shows.

In 1992, the first Blinky Bill series was produced and achieved international success as a theatrical, broadcasting and merchandising property.  Flying Bark will be re-creating the timeless property for the big screen and is currently developing a new 3D feature film based on the original book.

Flying Bark then moved into live action and mixed media with productions including K-Zone TV, Bambaloo and Art Alive.

In 2006, EM Entertainment purchased the remaining 50% share of Yoram Gross-EM TV and the production house was re-named Flying Bark Productions.

In 2008, parent company EM Entertainment was acquired by Belgian company Studio 100.

The mission of Flying Bark Productions is to create great animated entertainment for children. We employ Australia’s top talents in animation, the visual arts, screen writing and composing to produce a diverse and enchanted range of feature films, television programs and new media products.
